## Building Success: Mastering Project Management for Construction Professionals 

Project Management for Construction Professionals is a course designed to equip construction professionals with the skills and knowledge needed to effectively manage construction projects. The course covers key project management concepts and tools, including project planning, scheduling, budgeting, and risk management. Participants will learn how to lead and manage project teams, communicate effectively with stakeholders, and navigate the unique challenges and complexities of the construction industry. Through a combination of interactive lectures, group discussions, and hands-on exercises, participants will gain a solid understanding of the best practices and techniques for successful project management in the construction industry.

#### Course Objectives:

- Fundamentals of project management and its role in construction
- Techniques for defining project scope, goals, and objectives
- Strategies for effective project planning and scheduling
- Methods for resource allocation and management
- Approaches for managing project risks and minimizing project delays
- Best practices for communicating with stakeholders and team members
- Methods for monitoring and controlling project progress
- Techniques for measuring project success and evaluating project performance
- Industry-specific tools and software used in construction project management
- Interpretation of construction drawings and schematics, including electrical and plumbing.
- Incorporation of real-world case studies, site visits, and practical examples in construction project management

#### Entry Requirements:

- Five-year secondary education

OR

- Work experience with a desire to enter the field of Project Management for Construction

#### Cost:

- Tuition - GYD$190,000
- Course materials and site visits are included

Meet the facilitator:

Oronde Smith is an Architectural Designer and Project Manager with 30 years of industry experience. He has services high and low-end residential, commercial and institutional projects and developed architectural details for internal and external customers. Possessing an Executive MBA, Oronde is the Managing Director of 360 Designs Ltd. He has taught Project Management for Construction Professionals at leading professional development institutions in Trinidad & Tobago.
