No School on January 11-12th (NGSA Mock Exams)

January 7, 2024 New Guyana School

CORRECTION: In this article, we incorrectly stated that the closure was mandated by the Ministry of Education. This was a mistake.  Schoolwide closure is only mandated by MoE for examination centres during actual NGSA exams, not during the mock exams. We misinterpreted the MoE mandate and extended it to the mock exams, in an attempt to replicate the examination conditions as closely as possible.

Happy New Year! As we step into a brand-new year filled with hope and possibilities, we wanted to take a moment to extend our warmest wishes to you and your family.

We look forward to seeing you all tomorrow when school re-opens for the New Year on  Monday, January 8th, 2023.

We wish to inform you that there will be NO school on Thursday, January 11 and Friday, January 12, 2024, due to the first Mock Exams for Grade 6. This schoolwide closure is mandated by the Ministry of Education and applies to all levels - Nursery, Primary and Secondary.

While there won't be formal classes on the days mentioned above, we encourage students to take advantage of this time for self-study, reading, or engaging in educational activities at home. We will provide materials or suggestions for further learning, if applicable, so that the day remains productive for our students.

Please feel free to reach out to us if you have any questions or need further clarification regarding this closure. Regular school activities will resume on Monday, January 15, 2024.

Thank you for your continued support and understanding. We value your partnership in ensuring the best educational experience for your child.
